Needing a Vampire's Aggression
Wolves of Stone Ridge: Book Thirty-Five
Out of the Cage: Moving on can be painful, especially when it's what you need, but don't want.
Vampire Nikolai Kuznetsov enjoys his life of blood drinking and torture. The first he must do to continue living, and the second he does to keep his family safe. Plus, it gives him a chance to play with his knives. He loves his blades, wielding them with elegant precision. At his brothers' urging, Nikolai attends a poker night...just to do something that they deem as normal. Finding himself drawn to the blood of a mild-mannered, somewhat reclusive wolf shifter is the last thing Nikolai expects. Except, Parker Jones walks away without giving the slightest indication that he feels the same pull...other than his aroused scent, of course. Nikolai studies Parker, trying to figure out why the shifter would ignore the pull between them. He discovers the wolf shifter is still mourning his long deceased human lover. Tenderness and understanding aren't in Nikolai's nature. Can Nikolai find another way to connect with his beloved?

Nikolai Kuznetsov held out his hand to him. “If I remember faces correctly, you are Parker Jones. Da?”
Parker couldn’t say he was surprised Nikolai knew who he was. After all, the man was the second of the small vampire coven. That meant he was not only the second eldest brother, but the second-in-command of the coven. Part of his responsibilities would be to know everyone who entered their territory.
On instinct, Parker reached out and took Nikolai’s hand as he stated, “Yes, I’m Parker Jones.” He instantly felt a light tingle along his palm.
When Parker went to pull his hand away, Nikolai tightened his grip, refusing to release him. His pale brown eyes narrowed as he swept his gaze over Parker’s face. With his thumb, he gently rubbed the inside of Parker’s wrist.
“It’s very nice to meet you, Parker,” Nikolai stated, his voice deepening, his Russian accent mild, making his voice sound exotic. “I have a meeting with Jared in a moment, but once I’m done with him, I’d like to sit down with you. There is something we need to discuss.” His pale eyes darkened a little with a hint of red. “Something of a personal nature that I know we’d both enjoy.”
Parker gaped, his blood heating in his veins. His cock jerked behind his fly. He knew exactly what Nikolai was proposing. While his body screamed that it was all for it, his mind railed against the idea.
The image of his late husband, Donnie, flashed through his mind.
“Damn, Parker,” Leo teased, bumping his hip. “Straightforward, ain’t he?”
Parker snapped his jaw shut as he glanced toward his friend. Leo’s lips were peeled into a wide grin and his hazel eyes twinkled. The other shifter’s expression screamed go for it. Parker’s wolf growled eagerly in the back of his mind, urging him to do the same.
Ignoring them both, Parker returned his focus to Nikolai. He saw the way the vampire’s fixated on his neck for an instant, then returned to look into his eyes. Expectation shown from his lust-filled gaze.
Finally, Parking managed to extricate his hand from Nikolai’s grip. “Uh, I’m flattered, Nikolai,” he murmured. “But I can’t take you up on your offer. And I don’t need a drink,” he added, answering the man’s earlier question. “I was just getting ready to leave.” Forcing a smile, he shook his head. “Lost all the money I care to this evening.”
Nikolai lifted his chin. His nostrils flared. Lowering his hand to the bar, he gave one slow nod. “I see,” he rumbled. “I am truly sorry to hear that, Parker.” His smile turned predatory as he swept his gaze over his torso boldly. “Then, I will give some thought as to how to change your mind.”
Before Parker could come with a response, Nikolai turned his attention to Leo. “Can I get you a drink before I go, Leo?”
“Uh, just a Bud Light would be fine,” Leo responded. His tone held confusion and concern. When Nikolai handed him the drink, he thanked him.
Nikolai nodded, then pulled his wallet from his back pocket. He slid a card from inside it and held it out to Parker. “Take it,” Nikolai ordered firmly, his pale brown eyes glittering. “And should you change your mind before we meet again, call me.”
Parker responded to the order of the more alpha male and took the card. He glanced at it, seeing the man’s name and number on it, but nothing else. A spike of jealousy surged through him as he wondered just how many of those cards Nikolai had on hand.
Shit! I should not be worrying about that.
Before Parker’s brain could process everything roiling through him, he felt a warm calloused hand on his upper arm. Turning his head, he discovered Nikolai standing right next to him. Somehow, the man had rounded the bar and moved next to him without him noticing.
Nikolai’s grip was light but firm on his arm. With his other hand, he cupped Parker’s jaw. Bending close, he placed his mouth next to Parker’s ear.
“Eventually, you will change your mind, Parker Jones,” Nikolai whispered softly. “I look forward to that time.”
When Nikolai finished speaking, he licked a stripe down Parker’s neck. He followed that up with a scrape of his fangs back up his tendon. Nikolai again reached his ear and sucked his lobe.
Parker shivered in the larger man’s hold. His eyelids slipped to half-mast as tingles danced down his neck. Goose bumps broke out on his upper arms.
Suddenly, Parker found it hard to breathe. He gasped softly. Even as he fought down the whine of pleasure, his cock oozed in his jeans and his balls rolled.
Nikolai released his ear, scraping his fang over the lobe in the process. “That is such a pretty sound,” he mumbled. “I look forward to hearing more.”
With his body practically vibrating with need, Parker found it hard to think. This vampire’s mouth on him caused a riot of sensations to course through him. His nipples beaded and his chest heaved for each breath. He could so easily imagine the pleasurable escape this man offered.
Parker loved every second of it…and hated it.
Pushing against Nikolai’s chest—he wasn’t even certain when he’d rested his hands there—Parker forced the vampire back a step. Nikolai’s eyes glowed red as he peered down at him. Stark lines of need pulled his thin lips into a feral smile. His arousal perfumed the air between them and Parker knew if he looked down, both their erections would be clearly outlined behind their flies.
“I-I said n-no,” Parker stuttered. His voice sounded strained, even to his own ears. “No.” It wasn’t any firmer the second time, but at least he got the word out clearly.
Nikolai immediately released him.
